House Sitting

I am going to be housesitting and dogsitting for 30-60 days. I am going to be in a little country town called Riverbank. It will be quiet. I'm looking forward to the change that it will bring for a few weeks.

New Approach II

I delivered the resume to the prospective company. I had an impromptu "interview" with the person responsible for hiring. She didn't have an application for me to fill out and I said that if she would like, she could send one to me. This was on September 4.

The weekend was a 3-day weekend because of Labor Day. I faithfully checked my email each day, just in case she sent it over the weekend. I also checked in on Tuesday. When it wasn't emailed, I called and spoke with her again, after I had downloaded a few blank application forms from google. She stated that they had not received any new applications. I told her I had some downloaded and would be willing to fill one out and send it in. She said that would be okay. So I did. It has not been a week since I sent it in, but I have not heard anything from her. Tomorrow (Monday, September 14, 2009) I am going to call her with a follow-up. I'll keep everyone posted if this works.

New Approach

I was job searching today and I, unintentionally, am trying a new tactic. I found a possible position online and while I was gathering information on the company, so I could address my cover letter to the correct person, I ended up requesting that I personally hand deliver my resume to her. That was a new one for me...at 10a.m. today, I will be delivering...in Modesto (@ 1 hr away).

Hopefully I will stand out from the rest!
